Lecterns are reading desks with slanted tops on which to read documents and deliver speeches or lectures while standing. There are a variety of types from full-sized, standing lecterns to table top lecterns to be affixed to another form of support. The height or slant of the lectern can oftentimes be adjustable to facilitate eye-contact when facing an audience.
